Hope Not… Tunnel of a hundred voices.

Anyone familiar with walking through subway tunnels will know how absolutely fucking quiet they are. You can hear a pin drop. If you listen closely, you can hear trains coming stations away. The slightest of sounds can leave you on edge, wondering if track workers are near.

At this spot though – at this spot you’ll hear them… The voices…

I found myself walking through this tunnel alone late one night. I decided to check out the emergency exit.

A Bise tag? In a tunnel? That’s some rare shit right there.

While reading the tags on the wall, one in particular stuck out.

The voices? What the fuck is he talking about?

I go back down to the tracks to shoot some trains rushing by. Dozens of people science fictioning through the dark on technology that no one imaged possible centuries ago.

After the trains pass, that is when I heard them.

The voices.

Was I loosing my mind? Were there workers nearby? I certainly HOPE NOT either of those…

I soon figured it out, putting myself in a state of ease that I hadn’t been in for days. Solo mission tunnel therapy had won the day again.

I’m not going to take away from this story and explain what the voices are, or where they are coming from. Those who have been to this spot know. Those that don’t can keep wandering until they find them.

The Voices.

NOTE: It sometimes takes a short while for comments to be approved - unfortunately there's a lot of spam comments that come in. I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
