Smith Infirmary Damaged in Hurricane Irene

It seems the old Smith Infirmary lost a large chunk of it’s roof as a direct aftermath of Hurricane Irene. At least that’s what’s being said online and seen in the photo above.

Here’s our original, very old mission file on our first visit to this place. Even back then the building was in very rough shape. Decades of neglect have brought this unique old treasure to the breaking point.

Here’s a photo from above in 2008 – as you can see the roof was still very much intact.
