Retro Files: GTW - Easy like a sunday morning.
Author: Control , Date Posted: 2006-05-15 19:41:49After we found out that CF Freight had filed for bankruptcy and shut down their warehouse just south of GTW, we took advantage of the newly desolated surroundings to gain access for this, the first ever recorded daylight raid on the terminal.
It was a bright and sunny sunday morning in spring, and it was like taking candy from a baby.
The exterior of the north end of GTW, shadowed by the 'Palestine' water tower.
Piles of Cinderblock on the 'sidewalk' in the complex.
On 'Oak' street. In the hear of the post apocalyptic zone
Smashed buildings that looked like WW2 Dresden even before the fire.
Walls? What Walls?
Hole in the wall
Rotted piers & a view of the 14th street power plant
Smashed crap on the waterfront.
Not much left of this tractor trailer...
Smashed floors above allow for plenty of sunlight inside.
This is what happens when 120 year old wood floors are not maintained.
The stacks of clothing inside.
M & Jvo after the fact...
Looking north on West Street. The skywalks and buildings to the left are now gone after the fire...
