Bashed

This little essay is presented to show just how much damage a building can sustain at the hands of vandals, all the while retaining structural integrity. it also demonstrates the process of how a building becomes destroyed.

At first, windows and the such are broken out, then when it is obvious the building is abandoned, the local youth swarm in. over time more and more of them come and destroy. Scavengers steal the pipe work for scrap value. After much graffiti, someone comes along, as is the case with this building, and sledgehammers through the fiberboard/insolated aluminum walls (This is also done by scavengers). The next step in the progression will be fires, started either by kids who have already smashed all the walls, or homeless squatters trying to cook or keep warm. usually fires are noticed and put ut before destroying the entire building, so the final cycle repeats, until eventually the land owner or city bulldozes the building, if it does not collapse before then.
Nice Exterior

Electrical wiring and connector boxes were left behind, suggesting this was the work of vandals rather than scavengers.

Tagged Interior. "Hero" went off in here.

This wall was so smashed no board remains - only the aluminum framework.

...other than that, there ain't much to see. Lots of bad graffiti, lots of smashed walls. Another lovely day in the ghetto.

Maybe next time we'll find this guy a different hat to wear?
