The Bennett school. A wonder of architecture that has laid it a state of abandonment for close to 25 years now. This oversized mansion lays square between 2 more modern and likewise abandoned buildings which at one point composed the Bennett school for girls.

Today, the location is decaying into the wind. Windows and doors are battered open, and the entire structure presents with an extra eerie haunted house feel.

Unfortunately, exploration wise, this location has become a perfect example of a location that has become somewhat more secured due to the idiocy of some who were arrested within it's halls. These person or persons apparently told the police they learned of the location via a well known exploration website, and the police seem to have taken this as a threat to the area's peace and quiet. Afterall, in this sleepy quiet countryside town, where 'no trespassing' signs are almost as common as grass, it is likely the locals were not pleased to find out their humble little ruin had become a forbidden tourist attraction.

Today, there is no fencing or cameras. Instead, there are the signs, all over the place and impossible to miss. One is emblazoned with the New York State police departments logo and instructs all area residents to report anyone seen walking around this campus to the police immediately. It is not entirely unthinkable that after the arrest, a state trooper was dispatched to go door to door and ask area residents for their cooperation. Given the fact that the majority of people that live this far outside of the nearest major urban center do so in part to live where there is no crime, and doors can be left unlocked, and where everyone knows each other and looks at anyone from out of town as suspect, this proxy security presence is not one to be taken lightly.

We didn't bother to press our luck. We were just happy to take a quick stroll around the campus and see it before it's either revamped or collapses into itself.
