BOUNCE INDUSTRIES: RECENT HISTORTICAL
Morning rolls around without a care in the world, and beneath the sunny skys we return to the seen of the "crime". Bounce Industries looks a lot less menacing during the day, and oddly enough, there's no one around to question why we just hopped that fence and went around back. Alas, it was hardly 48 hours ago that such an action resulted in a little visit by NY's finest. A disruption to a wacky investigation that never quite got underway, until now...

The Bounce FaKtory is one part huge warehouse space, two parts huge vacant lot, and one part vacant office. In it's former life, it was a terminal for a trucking company that went bankrupt in Autumn 2002. That day, more than 15,000 people nationwide were laid off, with this terminal being only one of dozens across the country to be closed. The lot, filled with trucks and trailers, remained quiet and even active looking until April of 2003, when the trustee's appointed liquidation auctioneer came to town and sold just about ever piece of equipment on the property. The building itself looked clean and empty at the time. It was rather eerie, and not entirely clear that the place was out of business, at least to those that don't read the Wall Street Journal every day.

From there, squatters eventually settled. Some are still on the property today, though it seems that the main building - the warehouse and attached offices - were either sold or rented in December 2003. Shortly thereafter the squatters got boot from the main building, and a load of material was brought in from hotels - mostly used mattresses, though much other shit was stored there too. Why is not entirely clear. At first glance, one might guess this was a liquidation operation of it's own. You see, hotel's refurnish quite often, and their mattresses, TVs, etc are sometimes sold off to smaller hotels to use. Much cheaper to by a 6 month old or year old mattress via this method than buying new. However, the merchandise has obviously not been sold. Speculation abound is that it may have been donated by the hotel(s) to some cause, but somehow never got out of the warehouse... Whatever the reasons, the results are far too interesting to ignore, PD activity or not.
