The Asylum
In the 1800's this Lunatic Asylum opened. it included this Tower, which still stands - as well as buildings branching off of it in various directions. During it's day, it contained up to 1700 patients - twice the number for which the building was designed to contain. Apparently these patients were heavily medicated and any relatives or friends they had would only find out about their being deposited here weeks after they arrived, if then.
The branch buildings were demolished ages ago. A large dome that was over the structure was set on fire by vandals in the 1980's.
The fire damage in the interior is extensive. there is no real, safe way to wander around within it. Several doors inside open to nothingness...
