Fat Farm Revisited
Here's a short, not entirely accurate history on the place: it was
a city run old age home for the poor or on Social Security that was
generally considered a good place by many of the residents and staff.
Many of the older buildings on the campus date back at least to the
early 1900's, with the more modern brick buildings put in during the
1920's. When and why it was closed down, I'm not sure of. My best
guess it that it was closed in the later 60's early 70's.
There is currently some effort being made to preserve and reuse the
land, but for the most part,it's still rotting...
