Of Schitzos, gang rape, and stolen babies.

It's a bright clear spring morning. You can tell already that today will be another 80-90 degree heatwave scorcher though, and the sun ain't even all the way up. We come straight down a long narrow highway through a flat valley, and pull into the parking lot. There's plenty of cars parked around this half active location, so we blend right in. It's not long before we find our way into the rear of a quiet building.

This campus, like so many others of it's kind, has seen many days and nights of injustices. One story I found while doing research was that of a famous author who was in and out of many mental hospitals. It was here he received his dose of electro shock therapy. One man, who later was cured of his schizophrenia and went on to become a patients advocate was gang raped in the showers of this hospital. A 26 year old patient here also was impregnated by a 53 year old fellow patient, and she was forced to sign the baby over to the state's Child Services department. Let's just say this woman has not seen her child since, despite being out of the hospital system for a few years now.

These are but 3 of potentially hundreds or thousands of such events that took place within the halls of this campus. Today, part of the facility is a prison, the rest lays dormant. But the memories remain.

Heading for basement...

Yummy chemicals. We don't have more photos of this place because after coming across this huge amount of drugs, we sat and huffed ourselves into a dizzy bliss before heading back to the car for some good old reckless driving. WWWWWEEEEE!!!!
