C’était un Rendez-vous NYC Challenge
December 1st, 2010 by ControlSomeone needs to remake this 1970s video in 2000+ NYC.
The video was made in 1976 by Claude Lelouch, using a video camera mounted to his car. The video itself was presented without much information at the time and became highly speculated upon. Some say he was arrested when it was first shown, and there was considerable speculation about the car driven for this one-take shoot. (Claude apparently claimed it was his own Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9, with the audio being dubbed over with the unmistakable roar of a Ferrari 275GTB.
A modern day reproduction of this video, created within NYC instead, would be utterly brilliant if you ask me. Anyone itching to make a name for themselves should hop on a project like this. We've seen everything extreme in NYC, from pantsless subway rides to building climbing and high wire antics between the trade center towers.
Who - who amongst you mere mortals desires to live on in infamy forever?
Subway 1905
November 26th, 2010 by ControlFootage shot running from 14th uptown to 42nd street – from the front of a train following directly behind one and with a third running on the express track with lights outfitted on it to illuminate the local.
Note too at the end of the film that the train is heading into what is now the S 42nd street shuttle platform, before the olde H system came into play.
Olde’ Building Collapse
November 24th, 2010 by ControlI stumbled across this video on Youtube. A little bit of fire and those old wood frame buildings can really come crashing down fast.
MTA Cash: Makes for Nice Videos
November 11th, 2010 by ControlThey raise the fares and then give us videos like this one for it.
For you bridge climbing junkies, check out this video….
The MTA has a whole damn youtube channel full of them.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an interesting time lapse vid and all… but… uhm, can I get my money back?
What is…
