The Meatpacking Facility / High Line Construction Office

July 23rd, 2007 by

While the High Line was being rebuilt from an abandoned railroad viaduct into the stately park it later became, one of the former meat packing slaughterhouses along the viaduct became the office for work crews taking part in the project. Here's a quick tour of their facilities...

    Hi LTV Squad,

Love the website! This construction office seems like a great space. Do you know if it’s still being used? Or who owns the space now? Hoping to get connected to someone that could shed some light on the status of the facility now.

Any insight/direction you could provide is appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Nina

    Hi –

Looks like it’s gone actually – completely removed and replaced with the new Whitney museum. If you’re looking for a similar building interior, you’ll probably have to look in LIC, Maspeth, or Hunts Point…
