Well known to anyone living in Astoria, the Apple Tag and Label building loomed large over the subway tracks into Astoria, just north of Queens Plaza. For decades, it was one of the largest buildings in the neighborhood. This title of course has been lost to new, nearby high rise buildings constructed after 2010.
Just prior to it’s abandonment, it was home to multiple ‘sweat shop’ clothing manufacturers, and a strip club on the ground floor.
