The Rockaway Beach Branch is a section of former Long Island Railroad track running through Queens. It has become the subject of a heated battle, between billionaire funded ‘trail advocates’ who suffer from a unique hatred of public transportation (Public Transit Derangement Syndrome?), and those seeking to have these tracks reactivated as a subway line.
We’ve long advocated for these tracks to be reopened in one form or another, long before ‘Queenslink’ became a thing in fact. it is great that they’ve taken up this fight. Let’s just say we’re rooting for them.
