In recent decades power generation has been gentrified—pushed hard outside of city and even suburban limits. What has followed was demolition of many power plants—and oddly, slow to zero development on their former properties. For all the real estate industries talk of creating housing, these sites are often found to be contaminated and problematic for residential use. Lost in the fray is the unique architecture and electrical capacity these spaces used to provide.
