NYC Industrial Ruins

Over the last 20 years, we have made a point of exploring every abandoned factory, warehouse and industrial related location within NYC. Here is a sampling of some of these locations, including photos and in depth histories (where possible).

Views from 43-10 23rd street, LIC. “7 line factory”

I had my eye on this place for awhile.

Eppens-Smith Coffee Rooftop

Eppen-Smith building to the right LIC’s forgotten coffee factory.

Review Storage, Former Owens-Illinois LIC Property

I spot this security guy in the distance practically running in my direction.

Greenpoint Terminal Warehouses – a decade after the fire

Greenpoint Terminal is the gift that keeps on giving, even a decade later.

Allied Extruders

The end of the line for one of LIC’s last large manufacturers.

Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal (BEDT) – The abandoned years

The Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal (BEDT) was a small railroad located along the waterfront. Their property ran from N.4th street to North 11th street.

Keap Street Factory

The history behind this building is, unfortunately, a mystery to me.

Views from The Blanchard Building

One of LIC’s oldest standing factory buildings still has a great view of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
