Within an otherwise empty industrial building in NYC lies this hidden room, filled with intrigue.
Over the last 25 years of exploring abandoned buildings throughout NYC, I’ve seen quite a few rooms like this one. Only on occasion have I spent a significant amount of time documenting every aspect of one of these rooms before. More often that not a room like this would be just one small part of a building filled with dozens of photograph worthy intrigues. I’ve found everything from vintage cars to complete assembly lines within abandoned factories. When a factory has large scale abandoned equipment, it makes it easy to ignore a room such as this one, which is filled to the brim with… stuff.
What is all this junk? To a trained industrial repairman, I’m sure every item in this room met a specific need in keeping the production lines humming at full capacity. Today, there is no production line in this large building. Whatever machines these parts were meant to maintain are long gone, rendering the collection of things in this room all the more obscure and without context.

Hi!
Where is this located?
Thanks!
-Katherine
This was in L.I.C. – the room was cleared out and the building is currently being renovated. Spaces like this just don’t last long in this town anymore.
