‘Bando News and Messy Views
Hundreds of subway riders were forced to walk some track after Con Ed fucked up NYC’s electrical supply again Sunday night. How come this never happens when I’m on the train?! Also a good time to remind y’all that ConEd is a for-profit corporation that is more interested in pleasing their investors than if your ass can’t commute.

The notorious ‘Guantanamo of New York’ Metropolitan Correctional Center is going to temporarily—and perhaps permanently—close. Opened in 1975, MCC has been ‘home to quite a few notorious criminals: — including John Gotti, Bernie Madoff, Ramzi Yousef, Jeffery Epstein and of course, the most notorious DIY tunnel builder of all time: El Chapo. Who amongst you will break enter and explore this potential ‘bando? Whatever you do, I don’t want to know about it. 😛

NYC cops blew a shitload of resources just to catch a guy painting a Super Mario power up box on the water tower at the old Greenpoint Terminal Market. When asked how much it cost to arrest this one guy, cops refused to answer. I guess they were terrified he’d punch the box, get temporarily immunity and throw fireballs at them.

Philadelphia went ahead and demolished the old Spring Gardens train station, showing the usual contempt for history and preservation.

Also y’all remember Revs & Cost on the Ricki Lake Show? High quality stuff I tell you…

There’s a mad cool profile of IRAK crew in GQ, above all places…

Someone died while walking on the Q tracks in Brooklyn last week. Maybe they were heading to the Zoo hatch?

The New York Times (and several other news outlets) wrote up the death of Bob Diamond—a story I quite literally covered here first.

in Non-NYC, Non philly stuff, we’ve got some abandoned office building in Indiana slated for implosion, an abandoned high school in Bernie Sandersville, and an abandoned bank being bulldozed in CT.

All of that said… so… yeah do you slackline?

That New Tunnel Smell
A big ass new tunnel will be built in Canada, and I always recommend exploring new tunnels in that part of the world…

Also : WOW WOOOOOOOOOOO! WE’VE MADE IT! An entire week with no ridiculous news about E*on M*sk swindling some government or another into building non-sustainable tiny useless car tubes.

Bando BB QUE
Only one noteworth bando fire this week, large abandoned apartment building in Houston.

Labor Day Sale
Literally everything in the LTV Shop is 20% (using coupon code Revolt21. Plus I’m throwing in something free with every order. Inventory levels are kinda low—once those shirts sell out, they won’t be restocked.

NOTE: It sometimes takes a short while for comments to be approved - unfortunately there's a lot of spam comments that come in. I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
