‘Bando News and Messy Views
Every time I read a news story these days, there’s a photo of a Skam tag. 2021 king of NYC street bombing. Period.

The NY Post is reporting that the MTA is all big mad about subway trespassers, who are apparently causing a huge upswing in train delays. I’m sorry but what? We’re just supposed to trust the MTA’s data here? There’s a lot of unhinged people in the subways these days, but trying to pin train delays on this when we know there are dozens of other problems down there is just questionable. MTA’s reputation for massaging data to meet their excuses is practically legendary at this point.

The very long abandoned O&W station in Middletown (NY) is set to be redeveloped.

Jeffery Epstein might not have killed himself, but some of his former homes are currently ‘bandos. Personally if I had the time I’d find a way to check out that very remote estate in New Mexico, then go pop some pills at Meow Wolf.

Damn near impossible to get to abandoned house on the side of a mountain in Italy? Sounds like a fun time.

Here’s a good fluff piece on exploring abandoned buildings in Mississippi.

Foamers around the world lost their shit the other week when the Shark Nose locomotives that have been hidden in a shop in Michigan for the last forty years were rolled out and moved to a different building for storage. I had these locomotives on a hit list of places I’d break into if I ever got up to that part of the country, just to confirm they still exist. But I suppose I can scratch that crime off my ‘need to do’ list. I guess people like me are the reason they were hidden for forty years but no one owns trains. Hiding that shit is un-american. The sooner the owner donates them to IRM the better.

Cooling towers in the UK go BOOM.

Fats, oils and grease (FOGs) are the stuff of Fatberg Nightmares. If you’re looking to learn more about these gross ass monsters lurking in out sewers, well, this article is a fine start.

Surely you’ve heard about Brazil’s prehistoric sloth tunnels, right? Or how about the Drakelow tunnels? Or maybe the Znojmo Catacombs? No? Well you better click these links and learn more because there’s going to be a quiz on this in five minutes. I’m literally showing up at your door in five minutes, and if you’re not home, I’m breaking in. I’m eating your food and watching your TV. I’m already in your house.

This tiktok video of a tunnel in a school bathroom reminds me of LaGuardia HS in NYC. One day I went to take a piss and this hatch opens on the wall and a black kid pops out, says ‘you didn’t see anything’, and leaves. So yeah, hate to spoil the mystery but it probably just connected to another bathroom, and gave access to pipes that occasionally need maintaining.

Hey! “Have you heard the term “Urban Exploration” or “Urb Ex?“” LOL “Urb Ex”. Sounds like a rap guy’s sidekick. Anywho what is up with this tunnel under Kalamazoo? Surely someone must know right right right?

Well, I guess the word is out now on KC’s abandoned trinity hospital.

The Chicago Tribune answers that age old question. What is Urban Exploring? I HAVE NO IDEA. And if you’re bored enough to read that article to the end, you can click through to Bezosland and buy some garbage that you didn’t know existed but desperately need in order to be a real Urb Ex Or.

Hi my name is Urb Ex Or. Or is it Orbenthal X Orr? Sounds like a bond villain. When are they going to film a Bond movie in Vladivostok anyway? It’s the San Francisco of Russia.

Bando BBQ
Gotta love when a Chicago ‘bando catches fire twice in less than 24 hours.

Several homeless people died in a a ‘bando fire in Bangor, Maine. The city government said nothing while advocates correctly point out that not housing these people was a policy choice.

New Tunnel Smell
Not a new tunnel, but work has finally begun to convert the old Howard Street CSX tunnel in Baltimore for double stack freight clearance.

Helsinki just approved construction of the Sörnäistentunnel tunnel. Say that five times fast. Sörnäistentunnel.

The new NYC money pit known as the Second Avenue Subway extension is a go. Billions will be wasted on constructing a short tunnel that will serve people who already have subway access. Makes total sense.

This new water tunnel and underground hydro station being built in Australia is just madness.

This new freight tunnel in the UK needs a lot of graffiti on its walls.

Mary is a pretty boring name for a tunnel boring machine but hey new tunnels down in VA are never bad.

That Wrap Tho…
Of course someone decided to start some urbex drama last week for seriously no good reason. It’s what happens when people’s heads get too big, and they think their shit doesn’t smell. The minute you start thinking you’re better than someone else, no matter how many fans followers and simps you’ve got, that’s when shit will go sideways and all respect is lost.

I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
