‘Bando News and Messy Views
I’ve got an oddball buffet for you this month, with news from this last week and news from a few weeks back, all tossed together in one demented salad because LET’S GO!

The Dead & Near Dead
Which one of you called in this corpse behind this trash dump ass ‘bando motel in Houston? If it was you, you’re not alone. An explorer in Spain found a similar corpse and stuck around to lead the cops to the body.

This explorer-who-nearly-died story out of the UK is something. I’m usually extremely suspicious these stories but given the amount of witnesses and medical procedures to save his ass…

NYC Undergound
Mayor Swagger is worried about people BBQing in the NYC subways and seriously he needs to be more worried about the absolute lack of great BBQ options in NYC. Cuz let me tell you, that dump in LIC and the overrated line place in Red Hook just ain’t cutting it. I would 100% buy BBQ in the subway.

They say the bottom of the Hudson river is like toothpaste, which is obvi less than ideal for constructing a rail tunnel. Still, if Pennsy could do it 120 years ago what’s the problem? Oh that’s right everyone needs their taste now…

Check out this dude who tried to climb the cables of the Brooklyn bridge, only to end up in a weird high spot where he hung out awhile doing nothing. Also check out how clueless the cops were about getting him down.

Meanwhile, Graffiti is UP on the subways. Looking good boppers.

ECK-Cetera
Incidents of Fatbergs blocking drainpipes are also up. Looking disgusting there, poopers!

How much do abandoned buildings cost governments? This photo gallery has some highlights, though honestly, some of them like NYC’s IRT City Hall stop are very debatable.

OMG PEOPLE HAVE SEX IN ABANDONED BUILDINGS! What a silly clickbait for an otherwise interesting explorer profile article.

Check out this abandoned building in Shenzhen, China that was repurposed and turned into an art school.

MOAR Secret Tunnels
Jacksonville Florida apparently has some secret tunnels? Who knew?

Is there a secret tunnel from UK’s palace to a brothel? Probably.

Here’s a real oddball secret tunnel type story from Turkey: “…police found the subterranean complex in 2017, after following a secret passage to it from a modern two-story house in the village of Başbük, about 30 miles from the city of Şanlıurfa.”

Finland joining NATO means Putin might lose his shit but seriously if there’s any country literally built to hold that guy back, it’s them. The spirit of Simo Häyhä lives on.

While we’re in Europe, no war is complete without incredibly weird graffiti, like how abandoned Russian tanks are being tagged “Wolverines” and how the Odessa based LBWS crew has been painting pro-Ukraine cat cartoons all over the city.

While all of Europe seems to be rethinking their bomb shelter situation, Brussels is also sitting on top of one apparently very large network.

Everything else
This is an amazing story about looters stripping machines, wires and metal out of a new light rail station in Abuja, Nigeria The station is part of the new Abuja Light rail system. The scale of the looting is really something. Then again, this is Nigeria

Speaking of explorer profile articles, here’s one about some Minnesota explorers going to an old train tunnel (which is typically a dull affair, but worth documenting no matter what).

UK Protesters lived for four days underground without food or water, while some of their Olympic gold medalists climbed an oil tanker. Brave souls right there. Legit heroes. Also Fuck Oil. Fuck Biden for opening more land for drilling (lying ass old man—Trump was a fuckwad but so is this guy. Bernie 2024).

Cool cool cool, a developer is literally just kicking people out of the old Norristown Psych campus because hey who cares how many homeless people there are when some big deep pocket motherfuckers want to rape and pillage the land?

Amtrak is now trolling the fuck out of NS & CSX because the freight railroads believe for some truly insane reason that they don’t have to allow Amtrak trains on their tracks near New Orleans—despite having done so in the past. Why is this even up for debate? Amtrak was created to relieve these freight companies of having to run these trains themselves.

New Tunnels
Several elected idiots from Austin went to Las Vegas to check out Elon “MR. SEC Fraud’s” ipad car tunnels and to fondle hookers but HEY NOW.

India will be building the world’s “highest and longest tunnel” so get your bong ready. Or maybe a hookah? Not sure about Exploring in India? This article is a nice primer.

Plans for Australia’s longest tunnel are in the works.

Italian firm Webuild and its Swiss subsidiary CSC Costruzioni have successfully used a specially-designed robot to inspect its new tunnel in a move that could greatly improve safety for tunnel workers going forward.” OOO I’M GOING TO LOOT THAT ROBOT!

Bando Burning up and Biting the Dust
Texas and Spokane sure does have a lot of abandoned building fires.

An abandoned town hall in Canada burned to the ground.

If you like watching buildings go KaBoom! check out this recent implosion from Johannesburg. the building was condemned after three separate fires last year, one of which killed nine people.

Which one of you goons burned down this abandoned booby bar in San Bernardino? Talk about getting your kicks on Route 66…

Unfortunately, western PA authorities found some old coal mine shafts off a trail that they’re now filling in and sealing up.

See it before it’s gone…
A likely corrupt court in Detroit has given Fernando Palazuelo, the owner of the long abandoned Packard plant 90 days to demolish the entire place, otherwise the city will be given the authority to do so at his expense. For anyone who hasn’t seen the size and scale of this space, just know that they’ve demanded what is likely to be an impossible task. I can’t imagine the court doesn’t know this.
An abandoned hospital in Miami is apparently soon to be torn down.

A building at LSU is going to be imploded in early June, if you’re into watching big old buildings go kaboomy this is where it’ll be at. Well, I mean either here or Ukraine. What? Too Soon?

Wrap up...
I’ve only got one thing to part with: Abortion on demand, free legal and without question.

Bad Guy Joe knows more about the NYC underground than anyone else on or below the surface of this planet. He has spent nearly 30 years sneaking into NYC's more forbidden locations. When not underground, he's probably bitching about politicians or building something digital.
