BUSTED!
A young couple in Maine was busted for exploring. They are being charged with breaking into the building, even though a window was already smashed open. Weirdly they describe what the couple was wearing, none of which was out of the norm for exploring.

Cops in Battle Creek Michigan made some late night arrests, rounding up four people squatting in an abandoned home. How dare they be homeless?

Here in NYC, the MTA is proudly talking about their five thousand security cameras, located in one hundred and seventy three subway stations. They intend to install cameras in all stations, and are now planning to use them against poor people, as a means of arresting anyone who can’t afford the subway fare, or doesn’t have time to deal with their often broken Metrocard vending machines.

One for the car nerds:
In 2003, a section of abandoned Pennsylvania turnpike tunnel was reused for race car testing. The article gives a deep cut view into this extremely rare reuse of a tunnel.

BILLBOARD PORN!
Two people snuck into an unlocked shack near Detroit and uploaded porn, which was displayed on a massive billboard along Interstate 75. The overzealous thought police apparently want to charge them with felony Burglary—despite their being no mentioned evidence of theft. Others worry that children might see it. OH NOES NUDITY! Here’s to hoping these two perverted bespectacled heroes of billboard liberation are never caught.

Staten Island North Shore RR to become Busway?
This sounds like a pretty garbage, low capacity proposal. The MTA should focus on rebuilding and reopening the north shore SIRT tracks and providing train service. But that’s just my GET OFF MY LAWN! rant for the day. All things considered at least a Busway would preserve the ROW and prevent it from becoming a barely-used ‘rail trail’.

ONE LESS BANDO!
The abandoned home of a former NBA Player out by Chicago is inching towards demolition. The new Germany based owners apparently bought it without inspecting it, thinking they could rent it out… Wow dude. Learn how to America will ya? 😛

Some goon set a bando on fire three times in one day down in Florence, South Carolina. That’s what I call dedication!

Closer to home, the international boiler works complex in East Stroudsburg, PA caught fire again.

Out in Cali, an amazing old municipal pool building will soon be demoed. It has sat abandoned for nearly twenty years, largely out of fears it might not withstand an earthquake. Let’s just throw that taxpayer money in the air!

Plymouth Herald debunks the local legends of a secret tunnel between two small British islands. It reminds me of stories of a tunnel between Fort Totten and Fort Schuyler under the Long Island Sound here in NYC. Years ago I explorer the Fort Totten side and found only cursory evidence of a potential tunnel entrance.

Also in England, “it’s a race to see who can explore a location first before it becomes a coffee shop”. I been saying that for over two decades now, and it’s still 100% true. The ‘bando gold rush is still on.

A crumbling cliff in Cornwall has rendered a small tunnel from a hotel to the beach too dangerous to use. By the looks of that cliff, losing the tunnel is the least of that properties problems.

For the second time, smugglers have tunneled from Mexico into the same US house just 50 feet inside the border. How amazing is this? You’re netflix chilling and suddenly a small hole opens in your floor and some rando pops out with drugs. Duuuude. Are you seeing this? Wow I’m tripping balls.
