ASS: Assorted Subway Shenanigans
As we all already know, Mass Transit is not a likely spreader of Covid-19. With subways filled only to 20% of their pre-pandemic capacity, riding the subway is perfectly safe right now. However, if crowding increases to where it was, with sardine packed trains, all bets will be off.

Someone smashed two windows on a #7 train and interim president Sarah Feinberg says “We look forward to presenting the wrongdoers with the very large bill that will be required to fix it.” Yeah just like how y’all have found Garrett Goble’s murderer?

ACAB
LOL the NY Post is slut shaming this hot cop for goofing off on TikTok. We got cops out there throwing homeless trans women in the back of unmarked vans and how is blondie’s antics at all relevant?

LTV Loot Shop
Just a reminder that I’ve dropped a fun collection of custom made limited edition LOOT that you can grab at LTVPress.com. Once this current inventory sells out, it’s gone for good!

A swarm of shorties.
Americans and their prepper fantasy bunkers are always a fun filled read.

No one seems sure why a Union Pacific freight train dumped a few cars off a bridge in Phoenix last week. 500 gallons of cyclohexanone (an irritant used in making nylon) were spilled and a section of the bridge collapsed.

Snobs in Houston finally got their way, as demolition of an abandoned office building has begun.

Artists in Austin have turned the exterior of an abandoned building into a community space where household items can be donated or picked up for free. Looking Good there Austin… Now peel off some plywood and retake the whole building.

No, the game Subway Surfer was not created to honor the son of it’s creator who most definitely did not die subway surfing.

Portland has a lot of problems but building new tunnels is not one of them.

Here’s an oddly compelling article about the death of an abandoned house. It has a really great (sad) story outlining how such a great old building fell into the state it did.

Bando BBQ
An abandoned school in San Bernadino burned down last week, as well as a big basic bando in San Antonio.

International Update
Never fun to read about the death of an explorer, especially one so young. Be careful on them rooftops.

The Economist, for some odd reason, has published a story about UK explorers. I didn’t read the whole thing but hopefully it’s a bit better than the usual clickbait.

Iran is accused of digging a huge new tunnel network in Syria, not far from the Iraq border. Some day maybe this will be some very interesting exploring.

Speaking of tunnels, archaeologists in Poland found a network of tunnels under a large abandoned castle. They haven’t explored it just yet, but it’s apparently big.

And that’s a Wrap:
I’ve been reading a book written by a self-described ‘urban explorer’ and I’m so underwhelmed. Look, I don’t want to smack talk, but if any of you out there ever decide to write a book—don’t steal other people’s stories. And while we’re at it, don’t condescend. This book is vapid, and makes for a weird, icky read. Non-explorers who don’t know better might love reading this sort of tripe, but the rest of us… we not impressed.

Anyway, shout out to Brother Wilford, for the years of laughs at your expense. In all seriousness that man’s worth ethic was second to none.

NOTE: It sometimes takes a short while for comments to be approved - unfortunately there's a lot of spam comments that come in. I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
