XN: Subway Smash & Dash

Just Scraping the Surface…

ASS: Assorted Subway Shenanigans
A psychopath is smashing subway windows on the 7 Line and the MTA might have to reduce service because they’re straight up running out of replacement windows.

Insert the usual rant here about the NYPD’s 6 billion dollar budget, cameras covering the entire subway system, and cops basic refusal to do their jobs.

That New Tunnel… Smell?
THIS is how you drain the swamp, literally.

A new transit tunnel has been completed in Bellevue, WA. GET ITS ASS.

Speaking of big tunnels, Fort Wayne Indiana is using a tunnel boring machine to dig out a massive drain tunnel.

  ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ WHEN FATBERGS ATTACK!
THIS IS THE CONTENT YOU… CRAVE?! In New Zealand, a woman’s bathroom was basically destroyed when a construction crew clearing a fatberg sent high pressure water through the drains and a clog of shit exploded out of her toilet.

And y’all wonder why I don’t explore drains. Fuuuuuuck that!

ACAB & Co.
These racist sociopaths represent the worst of Long Island. How hard is it to leave your neighbors be, regardless of color, beliefs or religion?

Short Shorts
Bush Terminal, the massive old waterfront industrial property in Sunset Park (buried behind the freight tracks) is about to becoming yet another TV production studio. While renderings show the old freight storage yard still in place, this doesn’t boad well for the rail freight line. The yard is currently used for storage (some revenue cars, but mostly filled with a mysterious set of unlabeled scrap cars), and acts as a pass through for NJNYRR to access the recycling plant far up the line at 25th street. It is likely only a matter of time before the rails are straightened up the avenue, or the entire street running route is removed with recyclables trucked and transloaded at 65th street.

There’s a lot going on in the UN that you might not be aware of.

There’s a house for sale in Missouri that has eight jail cells in the basement and JUST THINK OF THE KINK OPPORTUNITIES!

Demolition work has begun on Trump’s garbage abandoned Atlantic City casino.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Beach Pneumatic Tube, well, here you go.

Here’s a wild ass story without a lot of details: three goons who stole a bunch of guns from someone were tracked down and arrested inside an abandoned building. Whatever the details are for this story, I’m sure they are weird AF.

Buying a bando and renovating the fuck out of it is a challenge that I’d love to take up some day.

And on a whole different note, the Cannibal Run record has been reset yet again. This time by two guys driving a fake cop car.

Bando BBQ
Some freak set a bunch of fires in Harrisburg last week, torching two bandos.

MOther-Fucker. A building we scouted out in Braddock PA in June was the scene of a massive fire last weekend.

International Update
Coco Chanel’s UK bando is in the news and honestly, I don’t see why. It’s just a bando.

A bando collapsed in Mumbai, trapping several people.

A mystery tunnel was found up in Canada. The tunnel appeared to be hand dug, and lead to the basement of a former bank. There is speculation that it was build for a robbery. Less exciting is this story, of two rooms found hidden under a Michigan building. Have these folks never heard of coal bunkers?

China has carved out a tunnel and apparently massive underground space for servicing submarines.

And that’s a Wrap:
Definitely walked right into a bando last week and shot nudes on the roof, despite construction folks working right outside of the joint. NYC just feels different now. We’re back to no one, not even the cops, really giving a fuck what anyone is doing. So long as it’s not loud or keeping them up at night… we’re definitely in the ‘fuck it all’ part of the Pandemic.

NOTE: It sometimes takes a short while for comments to be approved - unfortunately there's a lot of spam comments that come in. I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
