Just one of those nights…

Any experienced tunnel runner will tell you, there are nights that just plain don’t work out. You’re entering a layup and an unexpected train pulls in. Maybe you just entered a tunnel and look back to see workers following you in from another direction, or you get down there to find a work zone already set up halfway in.

I’ve had plenty of those nights, and these photos are from one such night. After trying a few tunnels the others gave up. I had that itch though, so I went far off to the other end of the system to get in this quiet spot.

Filled with R46 cars, this layup is one of my favorites. it’s simple, straight, long tunnel, and these old subway cars with the frontal roll signs… they just make for great photos.

And at the end of the night, there’s a billion ways to get out…

NOTE: It sometimes takes a short while for comments to be approved - unfortunately there's a lot of spam comments that come in. I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
