‘Bando News and Messy Views
Congress finally passed the massive Biden-backed infrastructure bill, and now his team is looking for ways to ramp up and get projects funded and started ASAP. The funding should finally push NYC’s Gateway Amtrak tunnel into construction, along with potentially the next phase of the Second Avenue Stubway (pushing it north into Harlem).
Tunisians found a secret tunnel to the french ambassador’s house and now I guess he can’t sneak out at night to go to the nearest brothel.
Richard Lie*owitz was viewed as either a photographers best defense against having their work stolen, or as a ‘copyright troll’ who filed thousands of frivolous lawsuits. In the end, the courts have decided to suspended him from practicing law. While as a photographer I totally get wanting to stick it to those who steal our work, Lie*owitz was incredibly sloppy and filed with the courts immediately as a means of extorting more cash out of offenders, looking for six figure settlements for the smallest copyright infraction.
Go loot this abandoned nursing home before it becomes an apartment complex.
Orangesburg South Cakalacky has outsourced some of their abandoned building code enforcement because hey what better way to shake down property owners than to send some petulant corporate goons after them, on taxpayers dime.
Workers at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel construction site found some civil war era cannon balls. It turns out their not worth a damned thing because really: who the fuck wants to cup some 150+ plus year old balls?
Apparently the abandoned Sugar Loaf ski resort in Michigan is going to be demolished.
If you want to lose some brain cells here’s an article about tunnels under Florida, because: Florida.
There;’s a house in Kingston, NY that has it’s own tunnel. The whole place looks a little too fancy for me. Gimme a grimey ass tunnel with cave crickets and bats. Like a lot of bats. Ok, all of the bats. Sure. take my money.
Over in Pakistan, the Nasla Tower is set to be demolished. Last I read people still lived there—making this an interesting case of demolition before a building was abandoned. In America that shit would sit decaying until it collapsed, hung up in decades of court cases.
One London city official wants to outlaw wet wipes for all the fatbergs they create.
Bando BBQ
Someone toasted up this massive 200k square foot warehouse down in Philly Metro last week. I guess that’s one way to dispose of evidence… like, a lot of evidence.
The fire department in Portland is trying to curb their rather high number of ‘bando fires caused by homeless persons. As Seantos McDonald, who lives in a tent stated: “there are people who just, you know, they’ll just burn anything.”
Meanwhile in Denver, it sounds like a homeless person or hobo burned out a ‘bando within a Union Pacific rail yard. The bulls are gunna be all up in that shit for a few weeks I bet.
New Tunnel Smell
The bay area is plotting a course towards some new tunnels by 2040 which will surely be a boon for area explorers hungry to get in on that new tunnel action. With any luck the project will drag on for decades like NYC’s East Side Access, providing an endless amount of fun.
