On a front lawn just east of Nowhere, sits this semi-abandoned relic of an oddball era.

At first glance it appears to be a steam locomotive, but upon closer inspection, it’s a clear fake. And to make the odd still more odd—it seems to have been custom built to look this way, from the now long defunct Plymouth Locomotive Works.
A closer inspect yields the proof – the front end of what normally would be the steam boiler is actually an air grill, like you might have on your car. Within the fake boiler lies a mechanical engine, and instead of big steel wheels on the side, it features small wheels tucked up underneath.
Rumor has it the owner purchased this locomotive at a bankruptcy auction. The future of this tiny locomotive is entirely unknown. While it has clearly seen better days, it seems intact and may be operational (with a bit of work). It was adorned with Christmas lights—appropriate for the season of my visit. However it also had signs of at least one invasive vine having grown over it.
I made an attempt to contact the likely owners, but they haven’t responded. As such, I’ll keep the details of where this thing is to myself. If you know, you know. If you don’t, keep on looking—there’s all sorts of great weird stuff out there, and discovering it for yourself is truly the best part of exploring.
