Camping in the snow, 2014

What’s The Goss?!
YO. NYC getting mad snow. Obvi this is a great time to wild out in the city. Shit’s fucked up and bullshit, streets are dead, and yo momma’s gunna think you’re crazy even you stay home. Send that shit.

Y’all gotta check out the Detroit Unseen documentary.

This is a deep cut: a Pete Missing/Smith t-shirt collaboration. You can’t possibly get more retro LES 1990s graffiti than this without a prescription.

Yo you haven’t scooped my 5ptz book yet? Well this is yet another good week to grab it, as I’ll be throwing in free MTA kick out window stickers and at least two other free goodies per order.

I’m also going to use some of the cash from these sales to support another artist. Hang in for details on that. Y’all already know I don’t do this shit for the money.

London’s HS2 tunnel dwelling protesters.
This story out of London is impressive: last week homeless people and protesters dug a series of tunnels to block the new HS2 rail project that would require them to vacate their current living space. As cops closed in to evict them, some entrenched themselves even further. Cops also resorted to quite literally attempting to torture those who remained in the makeshift tunnels. As if the sitch wasn’t bad enough, rainfall and perhaps government fuckery caused the tunnels to start filling with mud over the weekend. Apparently five people are still down there living full time.

If I’m understanding this correctly, the protest isn’t about the rail line so much as it the demolition of parkland, and the notion that with the world potentially changed with more remote work, perhaps no one needs this tunnel. Many argue commuters won’t come back, while others feel it’s a huge investment in the country’s future. I side a bit more towards the invest in the future side, though they really shouldn’t destroy a bunch of parkland to do it (or at the very least replace that parkland on a 1:1 ratio).

Hopefully this same logic doesn’t ever get applied to NYC projects. We have a bunch them, like the gateway tunnel project, that one could falsely claim are not necessary (it’s a replacement, not a brand new route). Same goes for Extending the second ave subway, or reopening the rockaway beach branch.

New Tunnel Smell
Seattle’s new TBM just arrived, and will begin boring a massive new drain tunnel shortly.

Permits for the new Line 5 fuel tunnel in Michigan were approved last week but don’t go getting your muck boots out just yet. Who knows if it’l ever get built.

Idiots in Florida think Elon Musk is going to save their asses. Those iPad Cars don’t even make a profit ya know…

Shorty’s Short Shorts
Famous people sometimes leave Bandos behind. I personally can’t wait to see what weird shit Kanye leaves in Wyoming when he finally loses his mind. Hey remember when Ye ran for president? 2020 was a fucken trip wow dude like did that even happen literally?

Remember that dude convicted for murdering someone he hired to build a secret tunnel under his house? The courts just reduced his charges and sentence, which means he could potentially soon go free. Interesting lesson learned here, and I’ll leave it to you to sort out what that lesson is.

The Post has a story on the history of the Octagon asylum, and people who currently live there. Comically they only mention that the vast majority of the building is brand new at the end of the story. Of course I’ve got photos of the Octagon as a bando, and during its reconstruction.

Some nosy ass motherf*cker in Newburgh wants the town to illegally wide off some ‘defund the police’ graffiti off a wall that CSX owns and SRSLY? Newburgh has plenty of problems and this shit ain’t one.

Who doesn’t like a feel good story about a dog being rescued from an abandoned building elevator shaft?

LOL look at these idiots storing stolen guns in a bando house I’m gunna loot that jawn those weapons are mine now.

Bando BBQ
That trap house your sister hangs out at in New Bedford burned up last week. Maybe she can fuck Upgrayedd and move into this burning Bahamas bando instead?

Homeless people escaped a burning bando restaurant in Cali last week, and disappeared into the wind before they could either be charged with arson or given food and shelter. The restaurant closed in 2017 after being sold to a developer, who apparently did nothing with the place.

International Update
India might reuse abandoned government buildings to create new libraries and fuck yeah.

Want to live that underground life? Here’s a list-icle of well maintained underground spaces people used to call home.

And that’s a wrap…
So what Stonks are y’all betting on this week? Also why are people’s entire retirements dependent on wall street playing fucked up short games that shit ain’t right. Maybe regulate shorting instead of shitting on Redditors for taking advantage of a garbage system.

I absolutely love when y'all share personal stories of friends relatives etc who worked in these places. It really helps capture what these places were like before they closed up shop.

If you're feeling salty, argumentative comments completely devoid of facts (supply links to support your argument) will not be published. Got a case to state? come with the details.
