Clamoring to leave.
Roll em up get on board GTFO…

What’s the NYC Goss
Y’all heard about this 20yr old who got busted for exploring and tagging up the old Saratoga County Homestead ‘bando? Apparently she was busted after the fact. Cops called her up to turn herself in, but she posted a TikTok about going to get a tattoo beforehand. Uh, Ok. Also literally why the fuck do cops care about this place? It’s an abandoned, trashed wreck. Whatever dumb shit she did was of no consequence to anyone.

Three Long Island kids were also busted upstate, this time for breaking into an abandoned house. IDK dudes maybe y’all just need to stick to KPPC?

As for that ‘Bozo’ kid on IG who went over a Zexor and got punched up for it… well I don’t need to cyberbully his ass more than he’s already gotten, but I will say if you’re doing graffiti and go over people—like this kid seems to do all the damn time—expect to catch something bad. Those are the graff rules.

Shorty’s Short Shorts:
This story about a sailor basically held prisoner on an abandoned ship is really horrifying yet oddly captivating. I hope Mr. Aisha at least gets a book deal or something out of this fiasco.

Last year, residents of Umbarvira, India were forced to take shelter in an abandoned railroad tunnel. Just this last week, they had to move back in during yet another cyclone. The poor people who live in this village are mostly construction and railway workers who have been struggling hard during Covid.

IDK about these people in San Fran—apparently their idea of having a good time at a bando is to bring a corpse flower to it, and let people line up and get a sniff of this most odoriferous flora. I can’t say I’ve been to SF but I’ve heard the stories and wonder why anyone in a city with its share of desperate people lacking bathrooms would need to go sniff this thing?

“Together we came up with the idea of using guided directional drilling equipment to drill through the fatberg and then allow a cable to be run through which would allow jetting to be carried out.”
Brits are getting advanced in their fatberg removal techniques, which is unsurprising given the practice they get.

Remember that case of the woman who bought and started to renovate a ‘bando house in the D only to get fucked with by that cities’ corrupt land bank? Well, she won her case, so all is a tiny bit more right with the world.

On a similar note, check out these fancy people who bought a bando church, fixed it up and are selling it for $1M.

Into cycling? check out this ‘bando-factory-to-bike-park conversion in Dayton.

Want to hear a funny line from a news article? Here we go: “The former plumber and now full-time urban explorer”—full time UrBexOr?! That’s wild right there. Wilder still is how he ‘discovered’ a former weed grow house, after cops had raided the joint and left all the doors open. if I sound contemptuous it’s because it’s really hard to imagine he ‘discovered’ such an easily accessible place.

Also in the UK, cops recovered three stolen vehicles at a ‘bando and that Land Rover looks a lot like one I drove through the Southwest two years back. Great ride. 10/10 would definitely steal one again.

There is an amazing in depth article about Tunnel Boring Machines in Forbes (above all places?) and yeah, it’s worth a read.

Some clown in Maine had permission to do a ‘controlled burn’ and only ended up burning his own ass, partially destroying an abandoned 1800s era home in the process.

Israel claims to have destroyed more than 60 miles of Hamas tunnel under Gaza City and I find their claims pretty hard to believe.

3 derps were ‘rescued’ after apparently getting trapped in a twin cities bando and seriously: how do you get trapped INSIDE a building? Speaking of UrBex Fails, some dude doing guy stuff was arrested in Tennessee after getting stuck while climbing the underside of a bridge. IDK how they charging him with trespass tho…

Future Bandos
The NY Times cranked out a thought piece on how slowing birth rates will result in more abandoned towns, buildings and factories in the future. They come so very close to admitting WHY birth rates are so low (Duh, it’s insanely expensive) but skirt the issues. Because hey why use a megaphone with huge reach to call out the root cause of a problem when you can dance around it?

And that’s a wrap…
Every week is more ridiculous than the last. Maybe in another week or two I can open up the online store again like I keep saying I will until something else stupid comes up.
