Rockaway after Hurricane Sandy

‘Bando News and Messy Views
There’s two big ass NY area ‘bando stories this time around.

First up, demolition of the East River Park on the Lower East Side is in full swing. Along with 991 trees being senselessly cut down, the destruction also includes the historic Amphitheater. The theater was used in the filming of Wild Style, and sat abandoned for decades. Post 9/11 the building behind the bandshell was demolished, and the arch was cleaned up and reopened as a music venue. Back in the 1990s, myself Ms. Rabbit and some dude she was f*ckin got very drunk and cut a huge hole in the fence so we could explore the jawn (and of course, drink more). I went back another time or two and have some photos somewhere of what the place was like—needless to say NYC lost a real one when this spot was cleaned up, and now all traces of it are completely gone. Thanks to DeBlasio, one last parting gift from the grifter-dope from park slope. The Boston Bimbo, whore to real estate developers. Worst mayor of NYC.

Next, the very very very very very long abandoned trains at the Port of Albany will soon make a very complicated trek to the Danbury Railway Museum. I’m glad I visited these two summers ago, and also amazed at how long Gasaxe’s tags and LTV scrawl on that S1 motor have lasted. That dude drops like 3 tags in a lifetime and they all get fame. WTF.

This video would be a hilarious guide on how not to hop the subway, if not for the fact this guy literally broke his neck in the end. Hey if the subway was free this would have never happened.

Shout out to the topless squatter who lived large in an abandoned upper east side townhouse.

Did you know several parts of NYC were enlarged with rock dug up from mining the subway tunnels?

If you’re ever in Vietnam, their tunnel networks are amazing and steeped in history. Absolute legend that they constructed these.

China is constructing a 310 mile long water tunnel and whose going to be the first to explore it?

LOL Festive Fatburgs. Is that like Festivus for tunnel dwellers?

Oregon State U will be blowing up their old stadium very soon, so break in while you can.

ALSO LOL Secret tunnel in New Haven Benedict Arnold shit yeah ok.

See the abandoned, formerly submerged town in Spain that has reappeared.

Apparently that huge infrastructure bill included money for the demolition and clean up of blighted properties. This is going to spell the end for many, many abandoned places.

Check out this wanna-be bridge climber in the UK who was busted in the act.

UrBexOr goes into long abandoned UK Courthouse, media cups his balls.

Bando BBQ
This story about a fire at an abandoned former homeless shelter in Tyler, Texas is a good reminder to be fucken’ careful. Very fortunate none of them guys drowned.

A bando in Philly made the news when it exploded into flames. Gotta watch it with them blow torches my scrapper dudes!

New Tunnel Smell
This whole ass tunnel dig down in Virginia going to be a ripe little exploring opportunity me thinks. “Each tunnel will be about 8,000 feet long, and the deepest segments will be about 150 feet below the water’s surface. The new tunnels will be about 50 feet deeper than the existing tunnels.”

Not a new tunnel, but… melting rock to make tunnels and bury cables? I’ll believe it when I see it.

That Wrap Tho…
I don’t even know where to start. The urban firestorm that wiped out two suburbs in Colorado? Omnicron? NYC’s Mayor insisting people go back to work island, and insulting the lowest paid amongst us just for shits and giggles? The NYC schools claiming to be testing kids when they don’t have consent forms and are really just testing the same half dozen kids over and over? The news outlets that don’t even know the right questions to ask anymore, or just plain don’t care to? I mean fuck it why bother paying journalists when the cops can write the news stories for them?

We all stayed the fuck home, lost out on money from work, wore masks (well, I like masks LOL), and got our shots… and still our entire government has completely failed us, at every turn.

At what point do we just burn the whole fucking thing down and start over? Is there anyone (aside from the billionaires) actually happy about the current direction of literally everything? Seriously: when were you (yes YOU) happy with the overall direction of everything?
